Kari Davidson's PledgePage for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training
Dear Family & Friends,
I have recently joined a very special Team In Training of more than 30,000 volunteers nationwide. I will be participating in the Maui, FULL 26.2 MILE, Marathon in September 2004! Yes that is 26.2 miles, and NO, I have never participated in a FULL Marathon before, and NO, I am not crazy, I truly believe in this cause. I promise to at least finish the race! ~About The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is a not-for-profit, voluntary health organization whose mission is to cure leukemia and its related cancers-lymphoma, multiple myeloma and Hodgkin's disease- and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. The Society provides funding for research, public and professional education, advocacy, patient aid and communtiy service programs. ~Leukemia and Related Cancers It is estimated that leukemia and related cancers struck more than 107,000 Americans last year. Although the cause of these cancers remains unkown, steady advances in research and treatment are bringing us closer to cures. In fact, thanks to research funded in part by The Leukemia Lymphoma Society, the survival rate for the most commom form of childhood leukemia has improved from 4% in 1960 to 80% today. I am writing to each of you to ask for your support. My personal goal is $4800.00, and 75% of that will go back to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and 25% will go to sponsor me and my race fees. (please see donation page for more info, link located on the left side of this page) No Donation is too SMALL or GREAT! At this time if you are unable to contribute financially please keep me and my Team In Training, in your prayers. Your prayers and donations will help us cross the finish line and eventually find a cure. With all my love, Kari Davidson |
